Vittoriale

A museum dedicated to art and literature.

The legacy of the writer Gabriele D'Annunzio can be visited in the Vittoriale. The Priory was his last residence, which still reflects the artist's taste and style today. The original farmhouse became the calling card of his unique lifestyle. Up to 10,000 objects and 30,000 books are kept in the Vittoriale, as well as mysterious interpretations hidden throughout the Priory. A place full of muse and creativity that is absolutely worth a visit.

Just a few minutes' walk from the Eden Reserve Hotel, one of Italy's most extraordinary cultural monuments awaits you: the Vittoriale degli Italiani. This imposing memorial was designed by the famous Italian poet, war hero and eccentric Gabriele d'Annunzio – and today it is a fascinating place full of history, art and symbolism that attracts thousands of visitors every year.

A unique work of art on Lake Garda

The Vittoriale is much more than a museum – it is a sprawling complex of villas, gardens, theatres and monumental buildings that reflect the life and work of d'Annunzio. Highlights include:

The ‘Prioria’ residence with its original rooms
The mausoleum where d'Annunzio was buried
The warship Puglia, spectacularly built into the hillside
The amphitheatre, which is still used for concerts today
The extensive gardens with panoramic views over Lake Garda

Events & exhibitions

The Vittoriale is not only a place of remembrance – it is also a lively cultural centre. Exhibitions, open-air concerts, theatre performances and readings take place regularly. Many events are held in the summer months directly in the open-air theatre overlooking the lake – a real highlight for every visitor.
